The shell and tube heat exchangers consist of a series of round or finned tubes, allowing flow of the fluid through one of the tubes and the other fluid runs over the round or finned tubes that is to be heated or cooled. There are various types of heat exchangers, such as shell & tube, tube bundle-in-shell, pipe-in-pipe, U tube bundles, and heating coil in shell.
